I’ve never been the biggest fan of highlighters (#oilyskinproblems), but they’re often too pretty to resist, especially when in duochrome form. They’re also devilishly tricky to photograph.
Celestial by Makeup Geek is a gorgeous icy lavender with a luminous to metallic finish depending on application. I wouldn’t call it a true duochrome; iridescent would be a better descriptor. I’m really impressed with the packaging and I think it’s a great value. The powder is almost too soft (don’t expect the design to last), but it applies nicely and lasts throughout the day.
I talked about Flickering Mirrors by Femme Fatale Cosmetics in my 2016 favourites post. It’s the most ethereal pinky-taupe with a turquoise shimmer. I absolutely love this brand and I would highly recommend trying any of their amazing products. Sophie creates extremely unique eyeshadows and nail polishes. Duochromes are what lured me in to the world of indie cosmetics, and I should talk about them more often.
Have you tried either of these products? How do you feel about duochrome highlighters?
