When I began to hear about the Charlotte Tilbury makeup brand on Reddit and BeautyTalk, I initially thought that it was overhyped. After trying a few products over the past two years, I have found that certain products are indeed overrated (namely the Magic cream and eyeshadow palettes), but several products are surprisingly quite good! The Filmstar Bronze & Glow is one of those products that amazed me.
After seeing how much Melissa Gold, one of my favourite Instagrammers and YouTubers, loves this product, I knew that I had to try it. The Light-Medium palette is perfect for my NC20 skin. It adds a natural glow and radiance to the skin without looking too powdery. I find myself reaching for it with nearly every makeup look that I do to add a bit of dimension to my face after applying foundation. It has an extremely flattering effect! It’s housed in Charlotte Tilbury’s sturdy rose gold packaging and it snaps closed.
There are two pans of powder in the palette: “Sculpt” and “Highlight,” and the names imply exactly what they do. Sculpt, the “Bronze” shade, is a beautiful, slightly warm brown with a satin finish. Highlight, the “Glow” component of the duo, is a light champagne with a luminous sheen. Both powders are soft without being too powdery, finely-milled, pigmented, and effortless to blend. It seems to be a struggle for me to find a bronzer that isn’t too orange and a highlight that doesn’t emphasize my skin texture, but this is a win on both fronts. I have combination/oily skin, and this product lasts on my face all day without fading.
I feel like I’m gushing a bit here, but it feels so nice to be surprised by a product! It is a bit pricey ($80 CAD), but I can see this lasting a long time.
If you’ve tried the Bronze & Glow, what do you think about it? And what are your favourite Charlotte Tilbury products?
